The Department of Classics at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Latin language and literature. The successful candidate will demonstrate scholarly energy and ability, as well as clear signs of pedagogical excellence. Research field is open to those working on Latin through the Classical period. Teaching load is 2 courses per semester; the candidate is expected to teach classes in Greek and Latin at all levels (including Latin prose composition) and literature courses in translation. The successful candidate will join a thriving department, committed both to research and to the teaching and mentoring of its undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students. PhD must be in hand by the time of taking up the appointment.
