Ancient Mediterranean/Near Eastern World. The History Department of Georgia State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the Ancient Mediterranean/Near Eastern World beginning August 2005. Primary research interest should emphasize cross-cultural connections within and beyond the Mediterranean/Near East and must focus primarily on the period before Late Antiquity. Instructional responsibilities include introductory, upper-level, and graduate courses in areas of specialization and pre-modern world history. The department provides strong support for professional development. Ph.D. required by date of hire.
