GETTYSBURG COLLEGE – GETTYSBURG, PA
The Department of Classics at Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year, full-time appointment (six courses) for the 2008-2009 academic year, beginning August 2008. We seek a Classicist to teach Ancient Greek History and a Topics course in our classical civilization program, intermediate Greek, intermediate Latin, and an advanced Latin author or topics course. The Ph.D. degree must be in hand at time of appointment.

Joint Appointment in Classics and Women's Studies
The Department of Classics and the Women's Studies Program at Gettysburg College invite applications for a joint tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2008. We seek a Classicist trained in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies or Queer Theory who can teach Greek and Latin courses, contribute to our classical civilization program, and offer introductory, theoretical, and topics courses for an expanding Women's Studies program. Candidates must be committed to undergraduate teaching, five courses yearly, and have a strong research program. The Ph.D. must be in hand at time of appointment.
