Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a two-year leave replacement position of Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics to begin September 1, 2012. The position includes a 4/7ths contract the first year (2-0-2), which qualifies for a full benefit package, and a full-time contract the second year (3-1-3), contingent upon an annual review. All specializations will be considered.
We seek candidates who have an earned PhD but will consider candidates who have achieved ABD status. Candidates should exhibit evidence of excellence in teaching all levels of Latin and Greek at the undergraduate level, as well as courses in translation; promise of scholarly activity; and interest in participating in the academic life of a liberal arts college.
