Classical Studies. One-year appointment with the possibility of renewal for an archaeologist and/or art historian. In addition to courses in material culture and art history, the position will require experience and demonstrated strength in language teaching, as well as the ability to teach writing, speaking, and critical reading in Hanover’s freshman “Great Works” seminars. Teaching in the first year will include introductory and intermediate Latin, a Great Works course on comedy and tragedy, and an elective designed by the appointee focusing on material culture. Teaching load is seven courses, three in each term plus the elective in our May term. Ph.D. and full-time teaching experience preferred.
