College Fellows Program. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University is pleased to announce the College Fellows Program. This program is for exceptional scholars who have recently completed their doctoral work and have demonstrated excellence in teaching. The Department of the Classics is seeking applications for a College Fellow to teach three courses in Greek History, including a graduate seminar and a course on Greek culture and civilization. In addition to this teaching, College Fellows will be given time to pursue their own research. The program will provide mentoring on both pedagogy and career development. College Fellows are full fledged members of the Harvard Community.

College Fellowships are one-year positions with the possibility of renewal for one additional year. In 2009, they are expected to be on campus starting August 15. Salary is $48,400 plus benefits.

College Fellowships are open to scholars who have completed, or will complete, all requirements for the Ph.D. by August 1, 2009. The program is limited to applicants who have received their Ph.D. no earlier than 2005.

The Department of The Classics at Harvard University invites applications for a tenured appointment in Classical Archaeology at the level of full professor. Candidates are expected to have a distinguished scholarly record and a broad interest in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels the art and archaeology of the Greek and/or Roman world. The ideal candidate will demonstrate energy and vision in leading a program in classical art and archaeology. Engagement with archaeological fieldwork is also preferred.
