Archaeological Exploration of Sardis; Expedition Administrator. The Archaeological Exploration of Sardis (in Turkey) seeks an Administrator for the Harvard University headquarters of administration, archives and publication. Reports to Expedition Directors and Director of the Harvard University Art Museums. Prepares field season permit application according to Turkish Government regulations for archaeological research. Manages administrative and publication staff, office, equipment and archives. In consultation with Field Director, prepares budgets and forecasts, monitors accounts, recommends investments and prepares financial reports and annual field seasonarrangements. Integrates field records to archives. Develops grant proposals, corresponds with donors. Arranges for publicity events. May participate in field season in Turkey.

Required Education, Experience and Skills: M.A in Classical or Near Eastern art/archaeology or related field preferred; 3-5 years' office management experience; financial management experience or demonstrated aptitude; computer proficiency; facility with legacy systems & software; excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical and writing skills; ability to work well with different constituencies and advocate for the Expedition; effective consultation and facilitation skills using various means of communication.

Must have a professional ethic of commitment, responsibility, and conscientiousness; resourcefulness and initiative; and an upbeat attitude in routine as well as unfamiliar situations. PREFERRED APPLICATION RECEIPT BY OCTOBER 29, 1999.
