Haverford College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in the Department of Classics at the assistant professor level, in the field of Greek and Latin language and literature, to begin the fall semester of 2006. Applicants should have the Ph.D. by September 1, 2006, and must have a commitment to both scholarship and teaching. The specific area of expertise is open, but candidates for the position should be prepared to teach Greek and Latin at all levels and to design a variety of courses that would contribute to our offerings in classical culture and society; a demonstrated interest in teaching mythology and/or gender studies is desirable.
