HENDRIX COLLEGE – CONWAY, AR
Hendrix College seeks to fill a tenure-track position newly approved in Classics at the level of Assistant Professor (Ph.D. in hand) or Instructor (ABD) beginning in the 2008-2009 academic year. Teaching load is 3 courses per semester, and responsibilities include Latin and Greek classes at all undergraduate levels, Greek and Roman Civilization; willingness to teach Journeys-the college's required, global-culture course for first-year students-is an expectation. Candidates excited about contributing to a dynamic undergraduate setting are encouraged to apply. Application should include a letter addressing the candidate's interest in teaching in a demanding liberal arts environment, a curriculum vitae, sample syllabi, and course evaluations. A separate dossier should be sent with three letters of recommendation (including the phone numbers and email addresses of the referees) and transcripts of all graduate and undergraduate work.
