Hendrix College seeks to fill a tenure-track position in Classics at the level of Assistant Professor (Ph.D. in hand) or Instructor (ABD) beginning in the 2012-2013 academic year, pending approval by the Board of Trustees. Teaching load is 3 courses per semester. Responsibilities include Latin and Greek at all undergraduate levels, as well as classes in Greek and Roman culture such as Greek Civilization, Roman Civilization, and courses in the candidate's areas of interest. Willingness to participate in curricular and co-curricular initiatives on campus is also an expectation. Candidates excited about contributing to a dynamic undergraduate setting are encouraged to apply.
