The Department of Classics at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a full-time, one-year replacement position beginning in July 1999 (pending administration approval). Candidates should possess strong competence in both languages and a commitment to lively undergraduate teaching. The area of specialty is open; some teaching experience, highly desirable; salary competitive. Teaching responsibilities will include a combination of Greek and Latin language courses and ancient literature, culture, or history courses in English translation. Located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Hobart College for men and William Smith College for women are selective, co-ordinate liberal arts colleges with a commitment to interdisciplinary education.
