HOBART AND WILLIAM SMITH COLLEGES-GENEVA, NEW YORK
The Department of Classics at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a one-year replacement position to begin in July, 2000, with possible renewal for a second year. Candidates should possess the Ph.D. in Classics with competence and willingness to teach courses in Greek and Latin language as well as courses in English translation. Courses for 2000-2001 include Beginning Greek I and II, Beginning/Intermediate Latin, Classical Epic (in Translation), and either Intermediate/Advanced Greek or Latin (Plato or Ovid). A commitment both to lively undergraduate teaching and to scholarship is assumed. Salary is competitive. Located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Hobart College for men and William Smith College for women are selective, co-ordinate liberal arts colleges with a commitment to interdisciplinary education.
