Hobart and William Smith Colleges - GENEVA, NY
The Department of Classics at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for an approved, full-time, tenure-track position for a Hellenist, to begin in July 2003.

Teaching responsibilities will include: (1) Greek language and literature at all levels, with occasional courses in Latin authors as well; (2) Ancient History or culture courses in English translation, especially "Greek Tragedy", "Classical and World Epic," and "Gender in Antiquity;" and some contribution to the Colleges' general curriculum (e.g., a First-year Seminar or a course in one of our interdisciplinary programs).

Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Classics in hand by July 2003; qualified ABD's will also be considered. A commitment both to lively undergraduate teaching and to scholarship is assumed. Salary is competitive.
