The Classical Studies Department of Hollins University seeks applications for a one-year leave replacement position for a Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics for the 2013-2014 academic year. Position is considered less than full-time, but is eligible for full-time employment benefits.
The position is for a general classicist with ability to teach both Latin and classics. The load will be five courses in Latin and Classics, and include the opportunity to create an undergraduate Classics course on a topic in your specialty. A Ph.D. in classics or a related field is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal history background check.
