HOOD COLLEGE - FREDERICK, MD
Humanities Professor. Hood College seeks applicants for the Sophia M. Libman National Endowment for the Humanities Professor, an interdisciplinary, three-year, non-tenurable position. As the focal point for our recently funded National Endowment Challenge Grant, the Libman Professor will come to Hood for a three-year appointment, teaching a reduced course load (2/2 instead of 3/3). The Libman professor will also convene a teaching workshop each year and assist in planning the NEH Center for the Humanities lecture series.

We envision the Sophia M. Libman Professorship to be an ideal position for a beginning scholar whose interdisciplinary interests include a genuine commitment to create public programs and facilitate humanities workshops. The academic field is open, but the search committee is particularly interested in scholars in Women's Studies, Classical Studies, and/or theater/film/performance studies.

Please refer to "The Center for the Humanities" on our web site (www.hood.edu) for details. Send a cover letter, c.v., and a dossier containing at least three letters of recommendation by November 15, 2001 to Robert Funk, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Hood College, Frederick, MD 21701.

Hood College subscribes to a policy of hiring only individuals legally eligible to work in the United States. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. EOE.
