Houston Baptist University seeks a Professor to join the College of Arts and Humanities with expertise in Classics, specifically Latin language and literature. With the growth of many of our programs and the increase in our student population as a whole, we are experiencing an explosion of interest in Latin and Classics.

Applicants should have a terminal degree, PhD in Classics or Latin, be able to teach lower and upper division Latin and Classics courses, and demonstrate expertise in appropriate and current instructional pedagogy. Applicants should also demonstrate enthusiasm for our classical liberal arts core curriculum. Exceptional candidates may be afforded opportunities to teach in our Honors College.

Faculty at Houston Baptist University participate in departmental, college, and university activities and are dedicated to excellence in advising as well as teaching and scholarship. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Candidates should be available to begin work in August, 2011.
