POSITION ONE (March): The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professorship for the academic year 2002-03 (there is a possibility that the position may be renewed in 2003-04). The visitor will teach two undergraduate courses each semester, including introductory classical art and archaeology, advanced art and archaeology of Greece, and ancient Greek culture. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. with strength in classical archaeology and have proven experience in the teaching of such courses.

POSITION TWO (March): The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professorship for the academic year 2002-03. The visitor will teach two undergraduate courses each semester, including ancient Greek culture, classical mythology, Greek literature in translation, and elementary Greek. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. with strength in Greek literature, culture, and language, and have proven experience in the teaching of such courses.

Indiana University, Bloomington, is a research university with excellent computing facilities and a first-rate library. The campus, located in scenic southern Indiana, enrolls around 35,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, has been authorized to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor of Latin language and literature with an ability to teach Medieval Latin. Ph.D. required at time of appointment. Teaching duties, to begin in fall of 2002, will include courses in Classical Latin and various aspects of Greek and Roman culture.
