The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professorship for the academic year 2006/7. The visitor will teach two undergraduate courses each semester, including introductory classical art and archaeology, advanced art and archaeology of Greece, and ancient Greek culture. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. with strength in classical archaeology by July 1.

The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a tenure-track position in ancient Greek poetry at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in the fall of 2006. Applicants with a specialty in Homer and early Greek epic are especially welcome. Ph.D. is required at time of appointment. We seek an individual who is committed to excellence in scholarship and in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be called upon to teach a wide range of courses in Greek, Latin, and classical civilization, including mythology. The Department of Classical Studies has close ties to the interdisciplinary Program in Ancient Studies and the Folklore Institute.

The Department of History at Indiana University, Bloomington seeks to appoint an outstanding scholar/teacher who specializes in the history of the Ancient or Late Antique world. Applicants with an area of expertise in Classical Greece, the Hellenistic world, or Republican Rome are especially welcome. An appointment can be made at any rank.
