Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Classical Studies invites applications for one (1) one-year, non-tenure-track appointment as Instructor, beginning Fall 2020. The Department of Classical Studies offers undergraduate majors in Classical Civilization, Greek, and Latin, and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate, and contributes to the training of graduate students in the humanities in the ancient languages. Teaching responsibilities will include Latin and literature-in-translation courses. The teaching load for one-year instructors is 4-4.
The candidate will have a Ph.D. or be ABD in Classics with solid general expertise. Candidates for the position must clearly demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching. The candidate should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
