JACKSONVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY – JACKSONVILLE, AL
The Department of History and Foreign Languages at Jacksonville State University is seeking to fill the following tenure track position at the assistant professor level, beginning Fall Semester 2005.

Ancient/Early Middle Ages. Specialty open. Applicant must be able to teach upper level courses in Ancient and Medieval History.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in History. Evidence of teaching experience and excellence is highly desirable.

Duties: In addition to teaching the above courses, the appointee is expected to develop undergraduate and graduate courses in his or her area of specialization. The applicant must also be able to teach survey courses in Western Civilization. The appointee will be expected to meet the university requirements in scholarship as well as in service to the university and the community.

Rank and Salary: Rank and salary are contingent upon qualifications, experience and needs of the university. In the event that this tenure-track position is not filled as tenure-track, applicants may be considered for a temporary or visiting position for one year.
