Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Humanities, Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.

The Krieger School of Arts and Sciences of the Johns Hopkins University solicits applications for the Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Humanities. Three fellowships will be available starting July 1, 2005. The appointment is for one year, renewable for a second. The position carries a departmental affiliation and the responsibility to teach one course per semester. The initial stipend will be $45,000, with an additional $1,000 made available for research and travel expenses; health insurance and a one-time moving allowance of $1,500 are also included. Applicants should have completed the Ph.D. no earlier than June 30, 2001, in any discipline of the Humanities.

Assistant Professor. Approved tenure-track position in Roman studies, to begin July 1, 2005. Field of specialization open. We seek a broadly-trained Classicist eager to contribute to the intellectual life of a growing Classics department within a research university. Expertise in any aspect of Roman literature, history, material culture, or philosophy is welcome; areas of special interest should complement those of the department. We particularly encourage applications from candidates working at the intersections of traditional subdisciplines, and/or interested in comparative approaches. Ability to teach Latin and Greek at graduate and undergraduate levels is expected. Ph.D. must be completed by the time the position is assumed.
