The Department of Classics at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for an approved one-year position for a Latinist/Romanist for 2007-08 at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Salary $45,000. Ph.D. degree must be completed by the time the position is taken up. Teach two courses per term: Roman Civilization and upper-level Latin in the fall; and two courses to be determined, probably including a graduate seminar, in the spring. Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Humanities. The Krieger School of Arts and Sciences of the Johns Hopkins University solicits applications for the Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Humanities in the following fields: Anthropology, Classics, German, Romance Languages and Literatures, History, History of Art, History of Science and Technology, Humanities, Near Eastern Studies, and Philosophy. Two fellowships will be available starting July 1, 2007. The initial stipend will be $45,000, with an additional $1,000 made available for research and travel expenses; health insurance and a one-time moving allowance of $1,500 are also included.
