Kenyon College seeks an Assistant Professor in Classics. This is a definite tenure track position with an initial appointment of three years, beginning July 1, 2003.

Applicants should be able to teach Latin and Greek at all undergraduate levels. The primary research interest of applicants should be Latin literature and Roman civilization. Interest/experience in such related fields as gender studies, archaeology, ancient history, mythology, philosophy, interdisciplinary teaching, or another specialty is welcome. Applicants should hold the Ph.D. by June, 2003 and be able to document effectiveness as a teacher. Teaching load is 3:2. The appointee will be expected to assume usual faculty responsibilities, including academic advising, committee service, and scholarly research and publication.
