Kenyon College invites applications for a definite two-year position in Classics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, effective July 1st, 2004. Applicants must be able to teach Latin and Greek at all undergraduate levels; the successful candidate will teach beginning Latin each year. The primary research interest should be either in Greek or in Latin literature. Interest and experience in related fields, such as archeology, gender studies, mythology, or philosophy, are welcome. Ph.D. is preferred but not mandatory. Applicants should be able to document effectiveness as teachers. Teaching load is 3:2. The successful candidate will be expected to assume the duties of an academic advisor during the second year of appointment.
