KING'S COLLEGE-LONDON, ENGLAND (3 Positions)
School of Humanities-Department of Classics. Three fixed term Lectureships. Applications are invited for the following three posts:

  • Three-year Lectureship in Classics
  • Two-year Lectureship in Classics
  • Nine-month Lectureship in Classics.

The successful applicants will be expected to take up their posts between 1 and 27 September 2000.

All applicants should have a Ph.D. in the appropriate field (or be close to submission of their thesis), competence in both ancient Greek and Latin, and some experience of teaching undergraduates. They will be required to offer a range of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to be active in research.

Applicants should have a broad general interest in Greek and Latin literature, and more specifically qualifications as follows:

  • for the three-year lectureship: any area of ancient Greek language and literature
  • for the two-year lectureship: Byzantine language and literature
  • for the nine-month lectureship: any area of ancient Latin language and literature

The appointments will be made on the Lecturer 'A 'scale, up to £22,003 for the 3-year post, and up to £20,319 for the two-year and nine-month posts (including £2,134 London Allowance), pro-rata for the nine-month post.
