KNOX COLLEGE – GALESBURG, IL (Two Positions)
POSITION ONE: The Department of Classics at Knox College invites applications for a full-time visiting position at the level of assistant professor to begin September 2012. This position is authorized for one year with a possibility of renewal. PhD required. The teaching load will be two courses per term (six courses over three 10-week terms). We seek candidates who are broadly trained and are prepared to teach Latin and Greek at all levels, as well as courses in translation on Greek and Roman culture. Strong preference will be given to candidates prepared to teach Greek and/or Roman material culture.
POSITION TWO: The Department of Classics at Knox College invites applications for an anticipated 2/3 visiting position for the academic year 2012-13. ABD required. Rank commensurate with credentials. The teaching load will be two courses per term for two of our 10-week terms (or four courses distributed over a full academic year). We seek candidates who are broadly trained and are prepared to teach Latin and Greek at all levels, as well as courses in translation on Greek and Roman culture. Strong preference will be given to candidates prepared to teach Greek and/or Roman material culture.
