Knox College invites applications for a one-year position at the assistant professor level in ancient history (classical or ancient near east), to begin September 2008. The teaching load will be six courses over three 10-week terms (two courses each term), including one course on "The Ancient Mediterranean World." Preference will be given to candidates with broad training (more than one geographic sphere and/or more than one time period). The Department of Classics at Knox College invites applications for a full-time visiting position at the instructor or assistant professor level, to begin September 2008. The position is for one year, with the possibility of renewal. The teaching load will be two courses per term (six courses over three 10-week terms). We seek candidates who are broadly trained and are prepared to teach Latin and Greek as well as courses on Greek and Roman antiquity. Some preference will be given to candidates with specialization in Greek literature, art or material culture. PhD or advanced ABD in classics is required.
