The Department of Classical Studies seeks a generalist classicist with specialization in religions of the ancient Mediterranean world (including Judaism) for a one-year, non tenure track appointment beginning August, 2006. The successful candidate should have the PhD in hand and be able to teach larger lecture courses in classical studies, including ancient Greek religion in the second semester of the academic year, as well as smaller classes in Latin and Greek. The normal course load for such an appointment is four courses per semester, three preps; evidence of successful college-level teaching is requisite.
