Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a non-tenure-track, one-year appointment, beginning fall semester 2013. Faculty members of the Department are strongly committed to research, service, and teaching, contributing to the University's Core Curriculum and offering undergraduate majors in Classical Civilization, Greek, and Latin, and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate.

Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Classical Civilization, particularly those that serve the University's Core Curriculum. The expected teaching load will be four courses for each semester. Candidates for the position must possess a record of distinguished teaching and student mentorship or demonstrate strong potential for such. They also should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Classics and a firm commitment to excellence in teaching.
