The Department of Classical Studies invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor effective August 1, 2008. Competitive candidates will have completed their doctorates and be pursuing scholarly specializations in the religions of the ancient Mediterranean world (applications from individuals with expertise in Judaism and the region of Palestine are especially encouraged). They must be able to offer a broad range of courses in classical studies, including ancient Greek and Roman religions; in Latin and Greek at all levels; and in the religions, history, and culture of the ancient Mediterranean world. Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to scholarly research and publication are required.
