Luther College invites applications for a Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor of Classics, a one-year position beginning Fall 2011.
Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred at time of appointment; qualified ABDs will be considered (Instructor rank). All fields of Classics will be considered; applicants with a specialization in Classical Archaeology are especially welcomed.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate should be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in Greek and Latin, as well as classical civilization classes. Responsibilities will include teaching in Paideia, our interdisciplinary program with a common syllabus required of all first-year students. Full-time teaching load is three courses in the fall, one course in January term, and three courses in the spring. For further information see http://www.luther.edu/academics/dean/openings/.
