Luther College invites applications for a one-year position, renewable up to three years, as Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor in the Classical Languages Department. Ph.D. is expected at time of appointment (late August 2001). We are seeking candidates who have enthusiasm for and ability to teach undergraduate courses in the Greek and Latin languages and literatures at all levels, as well as Classical Mythology, Classical literature in translation, and Greek and Roman culture. Commitment to effective teaching within a selective Lutheran liberal arts college community and evidence of active scholarly interests are essential. Applications will be strengthened by competence in one or more of the following: undergraduate general education courses and writing instruction, Classical archaeology, ancient history, Medieval Latin, Italian.
