Luther College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor in the Department of Classical Languages beginning September 1, 2004. This is a one-year position, renewable up to a term of three years. All specializations will be considered. Ph.D. expected at time of appointment; teaching experience required. The teaching load is three courses each fall and spring annually, and two out of every three January Terms.

The successful candidate will exhibit commitment to effective teaching and evidence of on-going scholarly interests. We seek candidates who have enthusiasm for and ability to teach undergraduate courses in the Greek and Latin languages and literatures at all levels, as well as Classical literature in translation and Greek and Roman culture. Applications will be strengthened by competence in undergraduate general education courses and instruction in writing.
