MACALESTER COLLEGE – ST. PAUL, MN
Macalester College invites applications for a two-year Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship from recent Ph.D.s in Greek or Latin Literature. Area of interest is open, but preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach specialized courses in drama or who otherwise add to the strengths of a thriving undergraduate Classics department. The Fellowship will begin September, 2007 and entails half-time teaching responsibilities.

The Fellow will offer one course each semester, including introductory and perhaps advanced courses in Greek and/or Latin language and courses in translation. Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. within the last five years, be interested in teaching in an engaging liberal arts environment, and hold promise in original scholarship. The Mellon Fellowship includes a $56,000 salary plus benefits and funds to support research and travel. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but to be given fullest consideration should be postmarked by January 17, 2007.
