MARSHALL UNIVERSITY – HUNTINGTON, WV
The Department of Classics at Marshall University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin in August 2007. PhD required. The candidate should have broad training in Greek and Roman literature. Research specialty is open. The successful candidate will be expected to teach elementary Greek and Greek Civilization, as well as undergraduate and graduate Latin courses and classics courses including mythology and literature in translation. The Classics Department is closely aligned with the Humanities program, and teaching in interdisciplinary team-taught courses is expected. Evidence of excellence in teaching is essential, in particular a versatile competence in the discipline and a strong commitment to innovative and interactive teaching. Evidence of active research is required.
