Miami University, Department of Classics, invites applicants for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position for the academic year 2012/13, with a possibility for renewal subject to funding and performance. The essential duties of the position are to teach three courses each semester, including Introduction to Classical Mythology, Greek Civilization, and beginning and intermediate language courses. The required qualification is a completed or nearly completed Ph.D. The desired qualifications are experience in teaching languages and courses in translation, a research agenda related to the courses taught in Miami’s Classics program, ability to teach courses in Greek material culture, and an interest in innovative teaching methods.
