The Classics Department announces a Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin in the fall of 2002. The position is a full-time, one-year position, renewable for three years contingent on performance and funds. Miami's Classics Department teaches a broad spectrum of undergraduate courses in Greek and Roman language, literature, and civilization. We seek a colleague, preferably a Hellenist, with a significant research agenda, who is qualified to teach courses in our curriculum. We are primarily interested in candidates who can teach ancient literature and Greek and Latin language courses. Ph.D. in Classics or related field must be completed by August 1, 2002 in order to be appointed at the Assistant Professor level. Salary competitive.
