MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY – EAST LANSING, MI
The History Department at Michigan State University is seeking to hire a tenure-stream assistant professor of ancient Mediterranean history. We are looking for candidates whose expertise complements departmental strengths and who are interested in transnational and interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. Active engagement in the Classical Studies program is expected. Teaching load is two courses per semester and includes teaching at all levels from general undergraduate education to advanced graduate training. Ph.D. required. Salary, benefits, and support for research are competitive. Full-time academic-year appointment will begin August 16, 2005.

Evidence of scholarly potential and of a strong commitment to teaching expected.
