Art and Art History Assistant Professor, Tenure System, 9-month basis, 100%.

DUTIES: The Department of Art & Art History and the Classical Studies Program at Michigan State University invite applications for a tenure-stream position in Classical Art and Archeology (Ancient Mediterranean Basin) to begin August 16, 2007. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Greek and Roman Art and Archeology in the Department of Art and Art History and courses in Classical Studies to be offered through the Classical Studies Program, which is housed in the Department of French, Classics, and Italian. In addition, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to the departments' and college's general education programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates having completed the Ph.D. in Classical Art and Archeology by the start of the appointment are strongly preferred, although ABDs will be considered.
