The Department of Classics has a definite opening for a Visiting Assistant Professor (PhD) or Visiting Instructor (ABD) for a one-year position, beginning September 2009. Candidates should be generalists, with particular training in Latin and/or Greek literature. The successful candidate will teach Latin and Greek at all levels and lecture courses in translation (with a preference for offerings in Greek and Roman literature) that will include instruction in writing English. Excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential. Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to teaching and scholarly potential.
