Monmouth College, a liberal arts college and member of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, announces a new position in Classics beginning August, 2007. This is a definite tenure-track at assistant professor rank. Responsibilities include teaching a wide variety of Classics courses and at least two courses per year in the college's new four-year general education program (total 21-24 semester hours per year). Position requires a completed Ph.D. by August 2007, evidence of teaching excellence; the desire and capacity to contribute to the curriculum of an innovative Classics Department that integrates Classics, Latin, and Greek students into the same classroom; and the interest and ability to contribute to the Department's work with students outside the classroom and in outreach activities (an active chapter of Eta Sigma Phi, hosting the Western Illinois Society of AIA, Fox Classics Lecture and Writing Contest).
