The Department of Philosophy at Mount Allison University invites applications for a sabbatical replacement position, subject to budgetary approval. Candidates should have a PhD in Philosophy or one nearing completion, and have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and a deep interest in the history of philosophy. The most useful combination of courses to be taught include: a first year introductory course in philosophy; a second year historical introduction to metaphysics or to aesthetics; and an upper year course in biomedical ethics, or symbolic logic, or a course in the successful candidate’s area of research.

The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor and will commence January 1, 2012 and end May 13, 2012.
