Assistant Professor of Greek Language and Literature. New College of Florida, a public honors college, invites applications for a tenure-track position to begin August 2007. Successful applicant will work closely with Latinist colleague to offer a comprehensive program in Classical studies that will interest a broad spectrum of liberal arts students.

Teaching load four courses per year (2/semester, no summer session), plus supervision of tutorials, independent study projects, senior theses, as well as committee responsibilities. Teaching responsibilities include all levels of Greek language, classical literature in the original and in translation, Greek and Roman civilization, and the classical tradition.

Candidates should show evidence of scholarship, demonstrated commitment to language teaching, and an interest in creative interdisciplinary work with other faculty. Ph.D. in hand or dissertation completed by date of appointment. Salary competitive.
