The department of classics invites applications for a one-year, nonrenewable, position as Visiting Assistant Professor in Greek literature. The Classics Department of New York University, pending administrative and budgetary approval, is seeking someone whose research places Greek and/or Roman literature written from the Hellenistic age to the second century CE into a broad cultural, social, or artistic context. Rank is open and we encourage applications at the level of both Assistant Professor (teaching experience is desirable), and Associate Professor (appointment with tenure is possible). The appointment is to begin September, 2002.
