The Department of Greek and Latin invites applications for a position in Latin, starting September 2004, preferably at the associate or full professor level, but with consideration given to strong applicants at the junior level. Teaching responsibilities will include a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses at all levels, including courses in the original language and courses in Classical literature in translation, mythology, and ancient societies and cultures. Non-tenured and entry-level candidates should send a complete dossier, including three letters of recommendation. Tenured applicants should send a letter of interest along with a comprehensive curriculum vitae and the names of three people who may provide letters of recommendation. Additional evidence of accomplishment in teaching and research may subsequently be requested. Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2003, and continue until the position is filled.
