Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics. The Humanities-Classics Department at Ohio Wesleyan University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics for a faculty vacancy (academic year 2000-2001). In addition to teaching courses in elementary and advanced Latin and Greek, this person may be asked to teach mythology and folklore, Classical archaeology, women in antiquity, and Latin literature in translation. The Department's curriculum fosters cross-cultural exploration of values and writing about ideas. The successful candidate will teach 6 course units in the year plus several Directed Readings. The six course units of teaching (3 per semester plus Directed Readings) will include existing Classics courses as appropriate to the successful candidate's experience and interests in the Department's offerings.
