OHIO WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY – DELAWARE, OH
The Department of Humanities and Classics seeks a one-year, visiting assistant professor of classics (full-time and non-tenure-track) for 2012-2013, to offer Latin (at all levels, elementary through advanced), and courses in translation (possibly, e.g., mythology, archaeology, women in antiquity); the possibility also exists to offer a Greek course, depending on the candidate's specialties and interests. The course load is 3-3, with the likely distribution to be two elementary language courses, one intermediate, one advanced, and two courses in translation. Participation in the active life of a small but vigorous program in Classics would be welcome. Ph.D. must be in hand by June, 2012. Candidates should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a sample syllabus for a language course and a course in translation, and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to Professor Lee Fratantuono, Department of Humanities and Classics, Ohio Wesleyan University, 61 S. Sandusky Street, Delaware, Ohio, 43015. Hard copies of application materials should be submitted by 30 March to endure full consideration; the position will remain open until filled.
