Monmouth College, a liberal arts college and member of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, announces a one-year part-time position in Classics, with a concentration in Classical archaeology, for the academic year 2014-2015. Teaching responsibilities, subject to enrollment, will include teaching the following partial-credit (eight-week) courses: two Classical Mythology and two in World Archaeology (“Death and Burial” and “Food and Feasting”) in the fall and, in the spring, “Ancient Magic and Witchcraft” and two partial-credit archaeology courses, “Pompeii and Herculaneum” and “Archaeological Methods and Theory.” Additional teaching responsibilities would include, each semester, a partial-credit archaeological lab course based on the Monmouth College North American Artifact Collection.
