Carleton College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in Classics beginning September 1, 2018, at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates must have Ph.D. in-hand by time of appointment. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Greek and Roman history, as well as Latin and Greek at all levels. This position is in a department of Classics with curricular emphases in ancient languages, literature in translation, history, and archaeology. The person appointed to this position is expected to work closely with the Department of History and other relevant units on campus. The teaching load is five courses per year, spread over three ten-week terms. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and scholarly potential.
