Lecturer, Classics
The Department of Classics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full‐time Lecturer position. This is a non‐tenure track position, renewable annually upon performance. Teaching load is 4/4 courses per year. Instructional duties will consist primarily of introductory courses in ancient culture and myth, as well as introductory and intermediate courses in Latin and / or Greek. There will be occasional opportunities to teach more advanced undergraduate courses, depending on the areas of expertise of the candidate and the needs of the program. The appointment will begin on August 1, 2021. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Classics or a related field in hand at the time of appointment. Applications showing evidence of excellence in teaching and a commitment to diverse, innovative, and rigorous pedagogical approaches to classical antiquity and its reception are especially welcome.
